I love you sew... you're a cut above the rest

I've got yet another card made using the Occasions Catalogue hostess/host stamp set {I love you sew}. I sew love this stamp set, love the sayings. I've shared some other cards previously, you can view them HERE and HERE and HERE. But for today's card, the saying I used is you're a cut above the rest.

For my colour combo I went with Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate and Rich Razzleberry with Whisper White and Basic Black. I started by stamping the scissor image randomly over my Whisper White layer, trying to have the colours evenly represented over the piece.

The pretty Crumb Cake designer paper is actually from {Love Blossoms}, it's not just for Valentine's Day! I just couldn't finish without adding some {Whisper White Baker's Twine} wrapped around the stamped layer several times. I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!

Made with Love is Purrrfect for Baby

What a gorgeous bright and sunny day, big change from yesterday's wintry yuck. Good start to my day, concert tickets to see one of my favourite bands!!!! It's not until August, but something to look forward to right?! Well, pleasantries aside, I've been trying to make more of an effort to make cards with a baby theme since I don't really have many and it couldn't hurt to be prepared just in case I ever need one. I was playing with the {Made with Love} stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and just fell in love with the darling kitty cat. I just had to stamp him once, then... well, a whole bunch of times as you can see below.

He was just too cute to have only one. That's pretty much my motto on kitties, one is just never enough or two... or three... you get where I'm going! I went with Tangerine Tango and Bermuda Bay with Whisper White layer for my stamping! I know these aren't traditional baby themed colours, but ANY orange and Bermuda Bay are pretty much my go to colours for most things... so why not! I'm not a traditionalist, I got married on Halloween in black!!

How precious is this kitty?! Reminds me of my Jeffrey, maybe not as chubby as my boy (he's 26 lbs.) but still adorable. I used Tangerine Tango for my ink colour, except for the one orange kitty stamped with Basic Grey since Tangerine on Tangerine probably wouldn't have shown up very good.

I stamped the Welcome sentiment from {Happy Happenings}, I only used half the sentiment and made a little flag to put on the top of my card, tied some {Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine} a few times around and done. Even a cute sentiment for the inside of the card from the {Made with Love} set.

One baby card down... I made a bunch of them since I had everything out, so stay tuned for some more cuteness coming your way. I hope you like it, enjoy your day! and Meow... from the kitties.

Hello ... Botanical Builders

Hello, we're in the midst of a snow storm, or freezing rain rather. It's really yucky out!! Onto my card for today, I've seen a bunch of cards and projects made with the {Botanical Builder Thinlits Dies}. I tried something a bit different, I die cut one end - flipped it and die cut the opposite direction to get a zipper like effect. Neat right?!

But, instead of leaving it empty behind the cut outs, I die cut another one in Tempting Turquoise and Crushed Curry and placed the "bits" into the cut out spaces for more of a punch of colour.

I stamped and die cut out some "bits" for a pretty turquoise flower, and a die cut hello. Simple, but I like it. Have a great day!

Perfect Pairings: Thank You Kindly

My favourite Sale-a-bration item for 2016 is {Perfect Pairings}. I know it's all sentiments, but I absolutely love the funky font and how you can add scripted with text. My {Stamp-a-ma-jig} was a must to get these lined up perfectly, since I ordered it in wood mount.

I went with an angled layer again, I'm really stuck on this look! I added an angle cut piece to the top of my card, and added some {Water colour Paper} with some Watermelon Wonder Classic ink and an {Aqua painter}.

A bit of colour to an otherwise simple black and white adds a nice punch to the card. I wanted to add one more thing, I looked at some of my favourite stamps and I haven't played with {Butterfly Basics} for a while so I decided to give it a spin. I only used the floral image, but it added a softer feel to the card. I hope you like it

Grateful Bunch...you are totally AWESOME

While at my upline's house last week, I had the chance to sit and play with this fun new stamp set called {Grateful Bunch}. It's actually one set that I don't own! But, alas... after test driving it - I want it now!! Any hoo, I made a bunch of grateful cards that I will share over the next couple of days. For today, I'm sharing the first one I made and it's so bright and cheery.

The added bonus with this stamp set is the coordinating {Blossom Bunch Punch} to make your flowers POP even faster! For my colour scheme, I went with Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral, Watermelon Wonder and Wild Wasabi for a fresh spring inspired colour palette.

And if the pretty flowers are great enough, the darling little butterfly is so beautifully detailed and not all that difficult or time consuming to cut out. I really went crazy with all the flowers, but they are just so pretty and I'm missing my garden... especially with the "white stuff" we have out side presently.

Okay, so pretty flowers - check. Darling butterflies - check. How about some adorable sentiments - yep, check! I love them, You are totally awesome... and I am totally grateful... so cute! It really does have it all. I'm not sure why I over looked this set, it's really quite sweet and is perfect for many spring/summer projects. Well, that's all for me today... have a totally awesome day!!

Putting a Little Shine On Pedal Pusher

Hello, I have a brand new Sale-a-bration product to share with you all today! My favourite... it's called {Pedal Pusher}. I just got it yesterday, and came up with this card really quickly - 5 minutes, seriously! I don't know about you, but I'm a designer series paper hoarder?!! One of my favourite papers that I've been avoiding using, not that it's not awesome - but because it is! I took the leap and used some of it...eeekkk! I'm talking about the {Shine on Specialty Designer Series Paper}, and the lovely silver and kraft paper with the lovely clouds. LOVE IT.

I wanted to go with bright, fun colours for my card so I went to Cucumber Crush and Crushed Curry. Not shy colours at ALL. I love bright colours myself and try to use them when I can. So my first photo doesn't show the pretty silvery goodness that this paper has to offer, but you can see it better in the next few.

I just love the adorable bicycle built for two, don't you? I'd love one of those, I'd take it in these colours too!! With some fun handlebar streamers and a bell, I could put one of my kitties in the basket too. Okay, off topic ... sorry! I used a {Blender Pen} to colour in the bicycle, it made the colour a bit softer than I would have got from a Stampin' Write Marker (a good option also though!).

And how cute is the sentiment? Let me pedal for a while, I'm here for you... so cute for a thinking of you type card. I added a bright Crushed Curry sun for behind my bicycle and some vellum clouds punched with the {Tree Builder Punch} from the Annual Catalogue. I feel like with all the excitement from the NEW catalogues, we often forget about the amazingly fabulous products in the Annual Book - just like this punch! This fun stamp set is available to earn for FREE with every $60 purchase (before S&H/Taxes) until March 31, 2016. I hope you like my card, enjoy this gorgeous sunny day!

Apple of my Eye, you're just the SWEETEST!

Last week, I had some time to sit and play with the stamp set {Apple of my Eye} that is in the Occasions Catalogue. I had so much fun creating these two cards that I'm sharing today.

I first started with a piece of simple black and white striped designer series paper from {Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack}. Then, I went stamping some colourful fruit to decorate the otherwise simple black and white. An orange, peach, pear, lemon and cherries... such bright and fun colours! I opted to fussy cut them all after I stamped them. I had enjoyed making this card more than I thought I would with oranges and lemons that I decided to stamp some more i.e. make another card.

For this card, I stamped everything with the exception of the leaf directly onto the card front. I did this using a mask. I stamped and cut out the image I was going to use for my card and fussy cut it out. Now that the mask was ready, I could stamp my first image - a lemon.

After your first image is stamped, put the mask over it and stamp your second. Repeat until you have stamped all your images. It makes it appear as though they are stacked on top of each other. A bright, and cheery card with a lemon, lime, grapefruit and oranges all lined up in a row!

And you've got to just love the sentiment you're just the sweetest. So cute! I hope you like them, and try some masking for yourself - if you have any questions please let me know! Have a the sweetest day!

Thanks Wildflower Meadows + 3 Brand New Sale-a-bration Items

I was making a few cards last week and you end up with bits and pieces lying around. Since I can't throw anything out, I came up with this fun card. I used some of the {Wildflower Meadows Designer Series Paper} from Sale-a-bration - both patterns are from this fun pack of DSP.

I'm a fan of distressing, so I shredded and ripped it up a bit... but it works, right?! I used the {Greetings Thinlits} for the thanks greeting, well actually the leftover piece. I was die cutting a bunch of flowers using the {Botanical Builders Framelits Dies}, I had a few left over from some projects I was prepping for just sitting there on my desk... so I added a Blackberry Bliss flower to the card front.

Starting TODAY... Stampin' Up! has released 3 brand NEW Sale-a-bration items that you can EARN for FREE (with every $60 purchase before taxes & shipping).

I absolutely love all three of these new additions to this year's Sale-a-bration promotion, and I can't wait to receive mine (tomorrow) so I can make some new fun creations!! Each of the projects below feature one of the three new items available. You can view the flyer HERE.

Botanical Gardens "Hello Spring"

So, I have a home decor project to share. I was immediately drawn to the {Botanical Gardens Product Suite}. I had always envisioned a pretty door hanging and that's exactly what I have to share today. I came across these adorable heart shaped chalkboards and knew they would be a perfect match for the {Botanical Builder Thinlits Dies}. I used the {Hello, Sale-a-bration} stamp set and made my own SPRING! sentiment with the {Layered Letters} alphabet stamps. Today was the last day to earn the stamp set {Hello - that is part of Sale-a-bration}, but one the bright side... three brand new products will be available tomorrow! See you then.

The Sky is the Limit!

Hello on this very sunny Sunday! Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

I have two cards to share today featuring one of the stamp sets from Sale-a-bration that are Limited Edition. This set was really popular, there's something about that plane that sold me on it.

The plane image is great for making masculine cards, which are more difficult for some reason?! Not sure why they are, they just are. I wanted to make some fun water coloured backgrounds for each of my cards, but with different colours and completely different looks.

For my first card, I used a piece of the {Going Places Designer Series Paper} - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this paper! The fun patterns and the colours are so ME. I chose one of the aerial views of an urban street map. I used several shades of blue to create the sky for my plane to fly around on.

It looked good with just the simple water coloured background, but I wanted MORE... so I flicked some water and used my {Heat Tool} to dry the water quicker - and ta-da, a super neat-o background!!

Next, I went for a yellow-orange sky this time. This card was no different than the first one - I simply added the colour and wasn't quite happy with it so...

... I ran my {Aquapainter} across the top and let it drip. This removed some of the colour and made it look white - it looks like lightening, love it.

I used the same paper stack, {Going Places}. I went for a similar paper design, but the opposite colouring with light background and dark for the urban grid lines.

I added a few clouds with {Vellum Card stock} and the {Tree Builder Punch}. Super simple and a nice added touch. I stamped the plane's propeller onto vellum and cut it out, added it on top of the original stamped plane with a small Crushed Curry Enamel Dot from {It's my party enamel dots}.

This is an awesome stamp set, I highly recommend it... if you have the opportunity to earn a copy for yourself on or before February 15, 2016. Well, I hope you like my cards and the sky really is the limit when you are creating. As long as you are having fun, go for it!

Life is a Beautiful Ride: Hidden Messages Card

Hello crafty people! I shared a card last week featuring the {Beautiful Ride} stamp set. It's such a fun set of images and sentiments. For today's card share, I did some "paper piecing", not sure what that means? It's really simple - I stamped the punch buggy or Volkswagen Bug image onto Bermuda Bay card stock and stamped it a second time on a piece of Designer Series Paper, then fussy cut it out and added it directly on top of the previous image. It's as simple as that! Now my bug has some super rad stripes - I'd love a car like this! I made this card for my sister's wedding anniversary, which is today!

This is an interactive card also, which makes it even more fun. That cute little bug car can be removed and has a "hidden message" attached and ...

Then, it reveals another image "a couple snuggled by the sunset", but that's not all...

If you remove that too, you will find another "hidden message". The best part is that they all tuck in perfectly for a nice surprise. I started with one pocket, and I wasn't quite happy with it so I added another on top, but I still had the first pocket so I kept adding stuff. An added element of surprise!

I have made this card for my sister and brother-in-law, who are celebrating their 5th Anniversary today. Happy Anniversary to you both!!! I thought this card was extra special, so I had to give it to extra-special people - who's better than family!?! The sentiment Life is a Beautiful Ride & Celebrate, are perfect for an Anniversary and since they're in the same set it coordinates perfectly also. It's hard to see, but if you look at the sun, I stamped a face from the {Ray of Sunshine} set from the Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue - the sentiment under the VW Bug is also from that set.

To finish the last minute details, I had to add a bit of sparkle and shine with some {Rhinestone Basic Jewels} for the stars, some sparkly car exhaust with the new {Pool Party 3/8" Glitter Ribbon} - I just pulled the end apart with my paper piercing tool.

I also added a cute little bow using the new {Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon} and some {It's My Party Enamel Dots} to the center of the car wheels! Look at the fun fold also. I hope they like it and hope you do also. Have a super day :)
