Hello... yesterday started out with fog - and turned out to be a sunny, warm and beautiful fall day. I have a fall card to share today since this lovely weather is so inspiring.
Sheltering Tree is still one of my favourite stamp sets, along with Lovely as a Tree. I love just the naked tree stamped by itself and all dressed up for the various occasions. I went for a fall themed card today. I used some very fall colours like Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, Delightful Dijon, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake to stamp the leaves.
I just love to go driving or hiking during the fall/autumn season. The colours are just so spectacular and with winter approaching and the leaves falling I want to soak up all the colour I can.
The card base I used was Whisper White, with an Early Espresso layer since the tree trunk and branches are the same colour. I added a center panel layer from the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper. I chose the woodgrain pattern and distressed the edges a bit with my Paper Snips before curling the edge up after adhering to my layers.
The sentiment thankful for you is also from the Sheltering Tree stamp set. I stamped with Archival Black ink and cut out rectangles around each word before attaching it to the card. This card can be made rather quickly, the stamping is what takes the most time since I used the smaller leaf image so I could achieve the look I was after. You could use the larger one and add hints of colour after to make some quicker. I hope you like it, have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by, Happy Stamping!
