Painted Petals: A Field of Flowers

I made this card for one of my co-workers who retired last month. She always commented on how much she loved my cards, so when I was asked to make one for her when she announced her retirement I didn't hesitate. I knew that she liked flowers and I just happened to have the Painted Petals stamp set out on my craft desk the day I was asked to make the card. I didn't want to add too many layers, since it would be filled with well wishes and lots of names and trying to write over a bunch of layers can be difficult. I stamped a simple background with Strawberry Slush, Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Inks, and the stems are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. I sponged some Soft Sky to the top of the card so the entire front was inked. I used my handheld punch to clip the sides of the card before wrapping the Whisper White Baker's twine around the card. I added some stamped flowers to the envelope too, to be cohesive with the card. She loved it, and I hope she's enjoying her retirement!!
