Yay! It's Tuesday, and I have the day OFF!!! I have some lunch today with some work friends, so I'm looking forward to that and I have stamp club tonight... the makings of a great day, now if the sun would just show its glorious face :)
For today's card, I combined to nature inspired stamp sets to make the card I have to share with you today. I used the single stamp, Hey There Buds and the Choose Happiness stamp set - both from the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue.
I was playing around with these two stamp sets at my upline Jenn's this past month. I didn't have the chance to finish my card while at her house, but I stamped several of the branches in Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry so I could finish it later.
I fussy cut out one of the Blackberry Bliss stamped images and attached it to the card base. I then cut out some of the blossoms, some in Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry. I did some dry embossing to give it a 3-Dimensional and more rounded appearance. You can see how it really makes the blooms pop off the card front.
The sentiment is from the Choose Happiness stamp set and so is the decorative stamp below it. I used the bird image also, and dry embossed it too.
I love this colour combination. I don't think I've used these colours together before, but I like the results. Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzlebery, Mossy Meadow and Night of Navy. They are such luxurious, rich and bold colours it's no surprise they go well together!
I did add dimensionals below each of the dry embossed layers too,
for some added dimension to the petals.
That way they won't get flattened and damage the dry embossing.
As a finishing touch, I added some candy dots from the Brights Collection. I used Old Olive for the flower center and Rich Razzleberry for the decorative trim stamp below the sentiment.
Another reason to love Tuesdays - a NEW set of WEEKLY DEALS available until March 30. Some awesome deals this week - Fringe Scissors, Vellum, Washi, Baker's Twine, Punches... too much goodness!
