When I first saw the Sheltering Tree stamp set I knew I had to have it. No doubt in my mind at all!! It doesn't take much effort at all to create something beautiful. I decided to make some notecards to represent all the seasons. Unfortunately, we're here in a not so pleasant one with a huge dumping of snow that last few days - I can't even see out of my craft room window! Making spring, summer and fall cards help me to escape the snow here. But, I still like the look of the wintery tree card. You can check out the 4 cards below:
The first one is the spring card. Spring and fall are my favourite seasons. I love when my garden comes to life in the spring. I used some colours that represent the spring blossoms that I see... Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz for some hints of the leaves showing though. I added some yellow buttercups to the grass for some added colour.
For the summer card, I went with shades of green. I used my two favourites, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. I added more grass blades and an orange bicycle to my card.
If I had to choose a favourite, it would be the fall. I love when the leaves begin to change and fall encompasses my favourite colours. Plus, Halloween is in the fall - and I definitely love that!! I used Cajun Craze, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Soft Suede and Tangelo Twist to resemble the colours of fall on my tree. I added some leaves to the grass since the leaves would be falling in the fall and a rake leaning against the tree.
Lastly, winter. It's hard to say that I love winter... but, it is pretty when the snow is falling and the sun makes it sparkle on houses, lawns, and sidewalks... I just wish it would stay untouched. Well, if I'm wishing for things - I wish it would shovel itself :) For my wintery scene, it does lack much of the colour that the first 3 cards offer - but it is still pretty. I added a few leaves to the trees (one's that are still left hanging on the branches). I used Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks with a bit of Cajun Craze. Then I added some Smoky Slate and Soft Sky for the snowflakes.
Here they are again - so pretty.
Which is you favourite? Spring, summer, fall or winter??!
