White Christmas

Hello, I'm scared of the title of this post! I hope fall stays for a long time, I'm not ready for winter yet... not after last year. So far fall has been great, some days have been nicer than our so called summer days. Honestly, I don't feel like we had summer - it was like a long spring. I have a card that I made over a month ago, not sure why I waited so long to post it... maybe the title?! It's Tuesday, so I have the day off! Of course it's raining - go figure. Anyhoo... that will give me some time to get my invites started.... why must I always procrastinate? I always manage to get everything done though!!!

Anyhoo... I had fun playing with the cute "White Christmas" stamp set at my upline's drop-in at the end of August. It's a great set for making fun scenes like the one I created below. I stamped the trees once - then folded my grid paper over and stamped again. I wanted the two trees together that's why I used the grid paper. Keeps everything neat and tidy!

The great thing about this set is that it's in photopolymer, so it's so easy to line up even the tiniest of stamps (like the little birdie).. isn't he just the cutest?!! I think this set would be perfect for making holiday frames for decor too.

I used the new 'Frosted Sequins' for a bit of sparkle & shine - I even threaded some onto my baker's twine before I tied the bow. I hope you like my card, have a great day! Check back tomorrow for an exciting announcement from Stampin' Up! to kick off October!!!!!!!

Trick or Treat Friends

Good morning! An early morning for me... I couldn't sleep once again :)
I hope I sleep good tonight, since I'm in for a super busy day at work tomorrow! I have a fun Halloween card to share. I was having fun playing with the uber-cute Freaky Friends stamp set. I should be making my Halloween Party invites, but alas the Queen of Procrastination was telling me to play instead! Since my 'playtime' has been rather limited lately, I really wanted to play with some of my favs! This set is definitely one of my favs! I'm not the only one who finds these cute monsters just so adorable, right?! I stamped each monster in a different colour (Tangelo Twist - big surprise I used this colour... I think it's my most used colour!), Crushed Curry and Black StazOn inks. I stamped my Trick or treat from the Good Greetings set with White Craft ink and heat embossed with Crushed Curry and Clear embossing powders.

I attached everything to one of the Project Life Grid Cards, matted it to Basic Black and Tangelo Twist - then again to Basic Black and finished by wrapping some Basic Black Baker's Twine and a Silver Metal Button. In a week from now I will be attending the Fall Conference in Kitchener - so excited for this event and my sis lives there so I get a visit too! I hope you like my share, and have a super weekend!

Nutty or Nice?

Well... I've got another Christmas card to share today. I used the new set, Santa Stache. It is one of those sets that made me laugh, and absolutely had to have as I love humourous cards! The sentiment nutty or nice just cracks me up. I'd say it's okay to be both!!! To make my card I used a Whisper White card base, with Basic Black and Old Olive layers. Old Olive is embossed with the Large Polka Dots. I cut a 1-1/2" Strip of Confetti Celebration Designer series paper to add a pop of pattern to my background. I added strips of Basic Black and Gold Glimmer for more interest to the background.

The white layer is actually the Project Life Grid Cards - I just love these cards! I punched the grid card with the spiral border punch. I stamped my nutcracker, and coloured him with Blendabilities and fussy cut him out. I diecut the muscache in basic black and popped it up on some dimensionals. Lastly for the sentiment - since I wanted to use the smallest word bubble framelit, I had to use my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker for first 'nutty', then the 'or nice?' to have it fit! The Merry Christmas is from the hostess promo on right now, until October 31 called 'Good greetings'... such a fab set!

Here is another that I made using the Pumpkin Pie Assortment of Blendabilities

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamps: Santa Stache, Good Greetings (hostess promo)

The Beauty of Ornamental Pine

I have a pretty holiday card... I thought about sharing another Halloween one, but I changed my mind and decided on a Christmas one! I used the new 'Ornamental Pine' stamp set. It's a great set to make traditionally elegant cards. I stamped the pine branch using Mossy Meadow ink - I took a baby wipe and rubbed out the stem and coloured it with an Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker - gave a huff and stamped. I repeated that once more for my second branch. I decided to fray the edges with the distressing tool before adhereing to my Chocolate Chip card base.

I really like the pinecone in this set, it's very realistic looking. I stamped it twice using Early Espresso Ink - then fussy cut them both out. The Christmas Wishes is also from the same set - it even has a verse and ornament to decorate (I didn't use it on this card, but you could!). I added a bit of Linen Thread for some added interest. It would be an easy card to make multiples of and with only one set too!!

Stamps: Ornamental Pine
Papers: Chocolate Chip and Whisper White Cardstock
Inks: Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso classic inks, Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker

Be-You {tiful} feathers

There is something so stunning about these feathers that I just want to pull them out and play with them each time I stamp. I love just randomly stamping the feather to make a pretty background and it only takes a few minutes and it is so striking - I just love that!

I did just that. I used Blackberry Bliss, and one of the smaller feather stamps to make this bold feathered background! This is one of the cards we will be making at my club this month!

Here is a slightly different version with a bit more bling!

Hope you like my share, have a great day!

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamps: Four Feathers, Flower Patch
Papers: Blackberry Bliss, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Vellum cardstock, Gold Glimmer
Inks: Versamark, Blackberry Bliss

Stenciled Stars!

Hello..... What a gorgeous weekend we had - lots of sun and warm too! I went to the Ancaster Fair, I just love the fall fairs, especially the demolition derbys! It was pretty awesome to see a woman compete with all the boys and smash up some cars. I made a fun card to share today using the new 'Accent Punch Pack'... well, just the star punch from the pack.

I cut 1" strips of all 5 of the new in-colours and punched 4 stars and matted each strip onto a piece of Basic Black. I punched 4 stars in Gold Glimmer paper and adhered them to the 3 punched out star.

I wrapped some Whisper White baker's twine, tied a bow and added a Happy birthday sentiment from Honeycomb Hello - punched out with the 3/4" circle punch. It's a fun card for male, female or child!

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:
Stamps: Honeycomb Hello
Papers: Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock, Gold Glimmer Paper

Witching you a Happy halloween

Hello...... I have another Halloween card. It's no secret that I love Halloween, or the fall season in general! There's something about the crispness in the air that I love, plus I get to pull out all my skull scarves again (I have about 20!) Well, any hooooo... onto my card for today. I used a piece of Flower Pot designer series paper for my background - I like the boldness of the striped pattern! The two sets that I used are my just so adorable, I had to use them again!

I used the Freaky Friends and Tee-hee-hee! stamp sets for my card (I love them both!). I started by stamping with the Freaky Friends. I stamped the witch, bird, skeleton, owl and bat - I fussy cut them all out. I cut a piece of Basic Black on a diagonal (I really like the diagonal look lately!) and covered up the bottom of my designer series paper layer - then added a 1/4" strip of Gold Glimmer paper in the middle where the two pieces connect... to finish it off nicely. I stamped the sentiment from Tee-hee-hee! and the witches hat, which I also fussy cut out.

I added my 'freaky' friends in a line as though they are trick-or-treating and finished with a 3/4" circle of Hello Honey for my moon, which I added the bat flying over and the sentiment I topped with the witches hat!

I hope you like my share, have a super day!!

A Background of Blooms

Hello! What a beautiful fall day, nice temperatures and sunshine - perfect for a day off! Not that I've had much time outside as of yet with a doctor's appointment and lab tests to be done....... and I'm heading out shortly again. But not before sharing a pretty card I made on the weekend using one of my all-time fav's the 'Bloom with Hope' hostess set. I used the daisy image and stamped over an entire piece of vellum then on the back side

I coloured with my blendabilities markers and adhered my vellum layer to a piece of Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. I added some Rhinestones (coloured with the darkest Daffodil Delight Blendabilities marker).

It's a nice happy card for a nice and happy day :)

A Happy Hooray Swap

Hello... it's a little on the cool side today, but it is almost fall! Not sure we've had summer yet, but hey I should be used to it with the weird weather we've had this year! On Sunday I participated in a demo-only swap. I had to make a set number of cards and each participant creates the same number and we exchange a card with each person and get a whole bunch of samples, inspiration and ideas for projects! In other words swaps are great :)

I made a card similar to this one a while back - but I only used one colour for my flower. I kept saying how I should make them for a swap, so I did. My upline, Jenn has a swap a couple times a year and the criteria for this swap is to use a 'new' product from the annual catalogue. We are not allowed to use any retired products or make it a holiday theme (so an everyday use card such as a birthday or thank you card would be appropriate).

I chose to use 'A Happy Hooray' since it's probably my favourite new stamp set (it's definitely the most used!). I really like the feather - so can you guess what I used...??? Yep, the feather! I made a pretty flower with the feather, since I ordered the clear mount option is was easy-peasy to make this 'feather' flower. You can use a stamp-a-ma-jig if you weren't planning on covering the center, but any not-perfect stems are covered with the 'thanks' anyways... shhhhh, don't tell! For my card, since I keep a copy for myself - I made this one after I was finished them all, I used 4 of the 5 in-colours (since Mossy Meadow isn't really a flower colour, I didn't use it - I still love it though!). I really like the rainbow look, wish I'd done this one first. Ah, well another time!

Here's a photo of my swaps. I made 4 different ones, in case some swappers don't like a particular colour... but who wouldn't love any of these fab colours (I love all of them!) I used two ink colours per card, I like the effect the double stamping creates.

Here is the Tangelo Twist version. The 'thanks' is stamped with the same colour as the layer piece.

Here is the Lost Lagoon version.

Here is the Hello Honey version.

Here is the Blackberry Bliss version... I think this one will be the most popular, most people seem to really like this colour - it's my fav purple tone.

Well, I hope you like my swaps... and I hope the other swappers do too!!! Have a super Monday :)

Boo to You...

Hello... I've had a great weekend so far, especially since I have a rare weekend off to start with! I went to visit my sister and went to the Kitchener Farmer's Market - they have such amazing prices on fresh, local produce. We popped by the St. Jacob's Antique Market, we got a couple of Christmas gifts... and one for myself (a pretty ring!). When I got home I went for a nice, long evening walk with my hubby and Tucker (my dog)... then finished up my swaps... any playtime makes me happy :)

Today, I'm going to my Stampin' Up! upline's downline meeting - so there will be more stamping and swapping! I'm excited to see what creations everyone has come up with. I had some time on Friday to make a few cards - and since Halloween is on my mind with planning my party, I've got a bunch of cards for such an occasion. For today, I made a larger than normal card (it's 4X8" - so an 8"X8" piece scored in half). Another great thing about the fall is the colours - oranges, yellows, browns, black, mossy green tones, rusts.. so pretty! I used Basic Black for my base, with layers of Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey with a piece of the 'Flower Pot' designer series paper... love those fun polka dots! I decided to stamp a whole bunch of the 'spooky eyes' from the 'Freaky Friends' set and punch them out with the 1/2" circle punch and add one set of eyes for each polka dot (some are on dimensionals, some are not).

I stamped a few of the 'bat' image and fussy cut them out and popped them up on dimensionals randomly on the card front to incorporate a bit more black.

To finish my card, I wrapped some Basic Black Baker's twine around my layers 3 times! I stamped the sentiments 'boo to you' and happy halloween' using the new 'Good Greetings' hostess promotion set. I am loving this set - so perfect for many occasions. Available until October 31, 2014.

I hope you like my share today, enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Give Thanks for Four Feathers!

Hello... I've been up for hours already and it's only 5 a.m.!! Insomnia is back again... I want to sleep, but my head won't stop talking to me!!!  I'm really loving the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue. My top pick is definitely the 'Four Feathers bundle'. I just love those stunning feathers. I chose to use my new favourite colour again, Tangelo Twist - but this time I paired it with Baked Brown Sugar to make today's card. I stamped part of the feather with the Baked Brown Sugar ink, then using a sponge dauber added the Tangelo Twist to the tip... gave a huff and stamped. I diecut each of my 4 feathers with the matching framelits.

I did the opposite for the two smaller feathers... Tangelo Twist on the bottom and Baked Brown Sugar on the top.... that sounds like a dessert, doesn't it?!

I used the 'Good Greetings' set for the 'Give thanks'. I actually used two stamps from the set to make this greeting - which was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Gold embossing powder.

I hope you like my share, have a super day :)
Let's hope I can get to sleep soon!

Doodled Blended Bloom

Hello again!

I really love the Blended bloom single stamp - it's so pretty and it looks stunning coloured or left as an outlined image. I've been working on some swap cards for my upline's demo meeting this coming weekend and I've been playing with all the NEW stamps in the annual catalogue. I've always liked the Blended Bloom stamp, and use it quite often. I decided to stamp just the outline, no colour... instead, I drew random doodles of lines, dots, squiggles, whatever I felt like drawing using the Project Life Journaling Pens. I cut out the bloom and layered it onto a piece of Basic Black that I stamped with White StazOn ink.

I'm a sucker for black, and I use black on almost all of my projects for the contrast. What's better than black and white for a bold look! I decided to add a pop of gold, it's funny I've never been one for gold - I've always been a silver girl myself... but gold is the new silver - so they say!

I am happy with how this card turned out, but I decided to go with a different design for my swaps... I'll share that one next week! Have a beautiful day :)

Haunted Holiday Home

Hello.. with Halloween approaching quickly I've got another fun card to share. This is a tiny card, it's only 4X4"... it's uber-cute!! I used the new 'Holiday Home' stamp set and chose the thin, tall house. I coloured it in with Blendabilities markers. This stamp set has some pretty tiny stamps, but they are photopolymer so they are easy to line up... you can see the tiny spiderweb and spider on the door... too cute!

I made my background with a mask of torn paper, I really wanted the sky dark and eery. I kept flipping the paper to get a different look each time I sponged the Early Espresso ink. I added some of the spooky trees and some bats. You can see the tiny spider hanging from the trees - I only stamped the spider and string, not the web. I hope you like my share! Have a great day :)

Freaky Friends Skeletons Stance

Hello.... I am a huge fan of Halloween, it is my wedding anniversary after all. Also I am slightly obsessed with skulls and skeletons... well, slightly is putting it mildly! When I first saw the adorable 'Freaky Friends' stamp set I immediately had to have it. I have to design my Anniversary/Halloween Party invites very, very soon and really need some more Halloween stamps. This year will be our 5th Anniversary, we had a rather small wedding so I said for our 5th Anniversary we'll invite everyone we couldn't before. I'm super excited to get to plan a get-together this year, I've been on Pinterest a lot, too much - there are so many ideas out there from decor to the food, and well pretty much everything else too.... so naturally I want to make it all. Well more about that later, moving onto the card I made to share today!

I knew I wanted to play with the super cute skeleton and I wanted to stamp them in rows - not sure how they ended up in the pattern they did, but I went with it anyways! I used Tangelo Twist (my new fav orange... love it!) - truthfully any orange is my favourite, but I always find myself using this particular one lately!
I really like the new hostess promotion 'Good Greetings' stamp set - it has some great Halloween sentiments. I used the Trick or Treat & Happy Halloween. You can check it out below, so many great sayings for all of the upcoming holiday seasons!

I will admit that I used the stamp-a-ma-jig a lot on this card since I ordered both my stamp sets used in wood mount and I didn't want my skeletons or words just randomly stamped!

I finished by adding 3 'hanging' skeletons - fussy cut and strung up with linen thread... ouch, that sounds painful!! I even think they're cute... is that weird?! I hope you like it, I really have to get started on my party invites... always the procrastinator. I'll admit it at least :)

Stampin' Up! Supplies Used:

Papers: Tangelo Twist, Basic Black & Whisper White cardstock
Inks: Tangelo Twist, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Paper Snips, Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals, Linen Thread

MY Holiday Catalogue TOP PICKS!

Hello... holy jeepers, it's a storm outside - my whole house just went black and it's 10 AM! The weather said we'd have one of the hottest days we've had and a thunderstorm... we'll we got the storm, now let's see about the hottness (since there is nothing hot about a downpour!) Weather aside, today I thought I'd share my favourite products from the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue (available until January 5, 2015). I love A LOT of products, almost everything is a must have. It's pretty nuts how fab this catty really is!! I mean I expected it to be great - but Stampin' Up! has outdone themselves with this one! It's always an exciting time when a new catalogue comes out, you have all these new goodies and the possibilities of creating awesome projects with them - plus they always have such great samples in their catalogues for inspiration.

I'm going to try to narrow it down to a top 10... man, that's going to be quite the challenge since my wish list is almost the whole book! I'm just going to list them in the order they appear in the catalogue.

1. 'Santa Stache' - when I first started flipping through the book, this set immediately caught my eye. I'm a sucker for funny cards - and the greetings are just too cute to not have this set in my collection!

2. 'On Point' textured impressions embossing folder - it just pointed (no pun intended!) out at me... I just love geometric shapes...so it was a definite must have for me.

3. 'Festival of Trees Bundle' when I flipped the page and saw these fun tree stamps, and you could bundle them with a punch!!! Enough said, I had to have it - I'm a punch addict. Plus, it's a pretty sweet set of stamps too.

4. 'Beauty of the Season' such a beautiful set and it was one of the sets available early (on July 8th), I had to grab this one as soon as I could. That cardinal bird is so stunning and perfect for blendabilities. Definitely a classic stamp set with lovely sentiments too.

5. 'Two-tone' Baker's Twine' - this one was a no brainer for me, since it's another addiction of mine! It's no secret how much I love me some Baker's twine... and this new twine is even thicker than the thick twine - great for fraying or just pulling some strands. So naturally I had to have both colours!

6. 'Visions of Santa' on the same page as the Old Olive Twine has the most uber-cute dancing Santas and some in their knickers no less! Just too funny to pass up... come on who doesn't love a funny holiday card?! Super adorable - and a keeper for sure!

7. 'Santa & Co. Designer Washi Tape' love it... the only problem with washi tape is well nothing, I just tend to hoard it - I really fell for the fun scalloped blue one in this set of 3 washi tapes! I'll have to get over my fear, if I run out - I'll just have to buy some more  = D

8. 'Four Feathers Bundle' - Ahhhh... onto some fun fall goodies! I love feathers, and what's better than a set of four feathered stamps? A set of four feathered stamps with matching framelits this set is a must have, there are so many possibilities with these babies!

9. 'Freaky Friends' - more Halloween toys...... my favourite season! I just had to have this set as I'm a sucker for skeletons and this set has a cutie! Is it weird that I think skeletons are cute?! I don't!!

10. 'Tee Hee Hee' - My last must have is another is a super fun... as soon as I saw this cutie it went on my must have list. The fun sayings and cute stamps are just too adorable to resist - and I didn't, it's mine!

There are many more great products, these are just some of my favourites - I'd love to hear which one's are your favs! Stay dry (for now!) and Stay cool (it's supposted to be a hot one later!)

Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping!
