I hope you had a nice weekend. I worked the weekend, but we had my husband's parents and grandmother over for a birthday BBQ. It was my father-in-law's birthday on June 5. I decided to make another yummy chocolate cake. I had never before made a cake completely from scratch - I must say that the cake is so much more moist than the boxed cakes. It takes longer, but it is so worht it!! He called my cake exquisite. The cake had Starbucks coffee, chocolate pudding, Greek Yogurt, applesauce... probably why it was so moist?!
Well, I've got a pretty card to share today. I finally had a chance to sit down and craft for a bit before work the other day. I pulled out the new 'Blended Bloom' single stamp. It was one of the items I chose for my pre-order from the new catalogue - the stamp is actually quite large. Instead of stamping and colouring the bloom, I decided to try something a little bit different. Why not stamp onto designer series paper and cut the flower out. I used the new, and stunning paper stack called 'Moonlight'. It has 48 sheets of 4-1/2" X 6-1/2" pieces of paper - with beautiful patterns for both femine and masculine type cards! I used one of the polka dot papers, it has the new Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon along with Basic Grey, Sahara Sand and Whisper White. I layered my flowers with dimensionals onto a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock. The sentiment from 'Something to Say'. I added a Basic Pearl to the center of the blooms, coloured with the Daffodil Delight Assortment of Blendabilities! It's great that you can make pearls or rhinestones any colour now - completely coordinated to Stampin' Up!s colours!! Love it.
