I measured my photo and cut a 1" thick border in Soft Suede cardstock and stamped each piece with the 'Hardwood' stamp - such a beautifully detailed stamp, using Early Espresso ink. I cut the corners at an angle to give the appearance of a picture frame... I added some sponged detail with Soft Suede ink to distress my frame a bit.
Next, I thought that since Tucker was playing in the leaves it might be a good idea to have some leaves in the layout... so I went to a favourite of mine the 'Autumn Accents' Bigz die. I cut the oak leaf in Old Olive, Garden Green, Always Artichoke and Wild Wasabi cardstock. I made a cluster of them in the corner and used one of the buttons from the 'My Paper Pumpkin' starter kit since it had the nice brown tones for that 'earthy' feel I was going for. The whole layout is on a piece of Basic Black Core'dinations Cardstock, which I distressed a bit with the sanding block. I love this paper!!
When I was trying to think of a greeting or words to add to my page to finish it off, I thought play time was appropriate since he thought of those leaves as toys, just as he plays with a ball! It was so super cute, looking at this photo brings that day right back to me! The letters are stamped with the 'Notable Alphabet' stamp using Black Stazon ink. I punched out my letters with the 1" circle punch and matted them onto the same green tones used for the leaves so everything was tied together. I hope you like my share, Tucker thanks you for visiting!
