Have you heard of Ikat? I hadn't before Stampin' Up! released this stamp set earlier this year.
Being curious, I looked it up and Ikat is actually a dyeing technique used to pattern textiles that employs a resist dyeing process that is similar to tie-dye. The word 'Ikat' comes from the Indonesian word 'Mengikat', which means to die.
I did another google search and so many beautiful textile patterns showed up in the image search. I realized that Ikat is everywhere you look, I just didn't know that that is what the pattern was called. Whenever I go shopping I notice it on pillows, blankets and even clothing - I saw the most adorable dress the other day and it was entirely designed with the Ikat pattern! I designed 4 cards using the Ikat Photopolymer stamp set for my stamping inspiration today, I hope you like them...
Happy stamping :)
